Pleasant Hill house engulfed in flames

Just after 2 a.m. Thursday morning, firefighters responded to a home with flames shooting out of the roof.

UPDATE - Firefighters have put out the flames at this home on First Street in Pleasant Hill. According to fire officials on scene, there was one man inside the home when the fire broke out. They said that man's dog alerted him to the emergency, allowing them to escape. The man, according to fire officials, is the son of the homeowner. The homeowner was on the coast when he found out about the fire. He was on his way back to Pleasant Hill as soon as he found out about the emergency. 

PLEASANT HILL, Ore. - Several fire agencies are currently on scene of a home fire at 36015 1st Street. 

KEZI 9 News Photojournalist Scott Dodge is on scene. In photos and video captured by Dodge, flames can be seen shooting out of the roof. 

It's unclear if anyone was inside of the home when the fire started. We're also working to find out the cause of the fire.
