ALBANY, Ore. -- A high-speed pursuit in Linn County on Friday night ended in an arrest.

Albany Police say they responded to a report of someone handing out counterfeit $100 bills North of Albany at Tom Tom's Deli.

They told KEZI 9 News that the suspect started to flee and then the pursuit began. It started in Albany, went down Highway 99 East and ended on the Highway 34 overpass over Interstate 5 in between Lebanon and Corvallis.

Police used spike strips to slow the suspect down on two locations on Highway 99 East near Highway 34. They said he continued but ultimately stopped because at least three out of the suspect's four wheels were flattened.

Police said the vehicle was stolen out of California.

The suspect's identity is not known at this time.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office assisted the Albany Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff's Offfice.
