MEDFORD, Ore. -- Students at North Medford High School are seeing more police officers on campus Tuesday after a threat was made, according to officials.

The principal said the threat is considered 'low level' and there will be class.

"Today it was brought to our attention that a message had been written in a bathroom stall about a school shooting. Below it was a date of 10/30/17 in which the zero of the 30 had been changed to a 1 to indicate the 31st. We have determined that the threat level is low. Out of caution, we had additional police presence at NMHS today and will have additional police presence tomorrow."

Extra officers are on campus to ensure the safety of students.

The principal sent an email to parents on Monday, alerting them of the threat.

Parents have mixed feeling about sending their children to school. Some parents are playing it safe and keeping their children home.

"I'm not taking a chance, I don't care how many police officers there are here."

Officials are still investigating the threat.
