PHILOMATH, Ore.-- The children of a couple found dead in their Philomath home on Sunday are getting some help from the community to pay for funeral expenses.
A GoFundMe was created on Monday to help raise money for Andi Pruett and Anthony Rath. The goal was to raise $20,000 but by mid-day Tuesday, that goal was already met and a new one was set at $40,000. In the description, the organizer wrote the money will go to the cost of the funeral, flights, receptions, rent cost, and other expenses they will have to endure because of their parent's death.
Their parents, Carl and Merry Rath were found dead with apparent gunshot wounds. The Philomath Police Department said investigators are reviewing the autopsy results and will release those findings on Wednesday. They also plan on meeting with the Benton County District Attorney's Office. Investigators are also waiting on results for a search warrant to access electronic devices, including the couple's cell phone.
Officials said more information will be released later this week.
