Garage sale proceeds go to Eugene shelter

Organizers said the garage sale raised almost $1,500 this year.

EUGENE, Ore. -- All the proceeds from a community garage sale held Aug. 15 to 18 in Eugene will go toward Nightingale Hosted Shelters.

Garage sale organizer Ron Pike has been putting on the fundraiser for over 15 years and told KEZI 9 News he estimates that the garage sale raised almost $1,500 this year.

The goal of the garage sale proceeds is to help pay for bathrooms, dumpsters and Conestoga huts.

Pike also confirmed that everything sold during the garage sale on Van Buren Street was donated by the community.
