EUGENE, Ore. -- If you have sensitive documents that need to be shredded, you can get rid of them for free this weekend.
Northwest Community Credit Union is teaming up with NextStep Recycling to host Docs & Data Shred and Recycle Day.
The event is happening at the parking lot of the downtown Eugene branch. You can get rid of everything from tax documents you no longer need to pay stubs and bank and medical records – even old electronics.
“We all have personal data in our personal documents, but we don’t think about all the personal data we have on our electronics,” Kim Miller with Northwest Community Credit Union said. “So on our phones, our computers, on our smart TVs, there’s personal data, and it’s really important to dispose of that safely and securely as well.”
On Saturday, you can stop by 545 E. 8th Ave. between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to drop off up to five file size boxes of documents. They’ll shred the documents on site.
