NCU property invaded; man pepper sprayed

A resident assistant heard noises in the living room before he was attacked.

EUGENE, Ore. -- A student at a Northwest Christian University residential house was pepper-sprayed early Friday, the victim of an apparent home invasion.

Police say the male victim was in his bedroom at 998 Ferry Lane when he heard noises in the living room. Upon investigating, he discovered a "homeless-looking" man with the victim's laptop in his hands.

The victim confronted the invader and was subsequently pepper-sprayed, according to police.

The suspect escaped.

An official at NCU said 14 students live in the building, which is a former fraternity house.

The Delta Epsilon letters are still on the house, but NCU does not have fraternities or sororities, the official said.
