BEND, Ore.—The former head coach for University of Oregon Women’s Soccer is now facing a lawsuit accused of stealing more than $80,000 from a Bend youth soccer organization.
Tara Lynn Bilanski, 48, is at the center of the lawsuit brought on by Bend FC Timbers. According to the lawsuit, Timbers is the largest youth soccer organization in Central Oregon and was formed in the 1990s.
Bilanski was employed by the Timbers until August of 2021, the lawsuit states that the Board became aware of increasing concerns from members about the way Bilanski has managed her duties as the Timber’s executive director. Some of those concerns included concerns about her leadership skills, strategic planning and vision, and transparency. The Board was asked to complete a survey and received 169 responses, mostly confirming the concerns brought up. Bilanski employment was then terminated on August 18th.
According to the lawsuit, after her termination the Board alleges that Bilanski had directed several unauthorized payments of Timber’s money to herself in the amount of $80,684.58
According to the Board, she did not disclose the funds to them at any time until after she was terminated and she was confronted.

According to the University of Oregon, Bilanski was the head coach for Oregon women’s soccer from 2005 to 2012.
