ROSEBURG, Ore.— A massive fire destroyed a Roseburg home Sunday, leaving five people without a place to live.
Officials said the fire broke out around 11:30 p.m. on the 2400 block of Jay Avenue.
Firefighters arrived to heavy fire and smoke coming out of the front and back of the home.
Officials said they had to take an aggressive approach to the fire as it took two hours to put out.
“Every space within the home has been damaged by fire,” said Randy Babbitt, Battalion Chief for the Roseburg Fire Department. “Unfortunately, the homeowner has lost almost everything inside.”
They said they recovered five adults and two dogs.
However, two of the adults were transported to Mercy Medical Center with burn and smoke related injuries.
