CORVALLIS, Ore. -- A Corvallis home was destroyed after a fire broke out late Monday night.

The fire was called in at 11:52 p.m. in the 4000 block of Roseberry Street.

When crews arrived on scene, they found smoke pouring out of the garage. The residents and neighbors were forced to evacuate.

It took crews just over an hour to knock down the fire and they were able to contain the damage to the property, which fire officials say was significant.

Officials say everyone inside was able to get out safely along with their dog, but several cats died.

The cause is under investigation.
