EUGENE, Ore. -- The cause of a fire that torched two mobile homes at West Plaza Home Park is under investigation, and firefighters believe the fire may have started in one home and spread to the second.

Fire crews were dispatched around 11:42 p.m. Monday.

Residents evacuated the homes safely, and there were no reported injuries.

While firefighters were on scene, the area around West 6th Avenue and Polk Street was blocked off to traffic.

Fire officials confirmed two families were affected.

An elderly woman is the resident of one of the homes, and she was housed at a local motel for the night.

The second family was able to get help from the Red Cross.
