Felon accused of threatening driver with firearm in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. – A convicted felon is in jail, accused of threatening a driver with a firearm near the Beltline and Coburg Road Sunday afternoon.

Police said at about 4:30 p.m. a woman told them a man driving a sedan in the lane next to her pointed a gun at her while loading a magazine into it.

A car matching the description was found in the parking lot at 1500 Coburg Road. Police said two people were in the vehicle.

Travis Potts, 30, of Springfield got out of the driver’s side and was arrested, police said. Passenger Jesse Pruett, 22, of Springfield was also detained.

An officer saw a handgun in the car’s open center console, and during a search of the vehicle, police reportedly found two handguns, methamphetamine and heroin.

Police said Potts is a convicted felon on post-prison supervision. He was charged with unlawful delivery of meth and heroin, two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapons and reckless endangering.

Pruett was found in possession of meth and was cited, police said.
