LANE COUNTY, Ore.-- One person is dead after a crash involving two motorcycles east of McKenzie Bridge Saturday afternoon, officials said.

On Sept. 25 at 2:20 p.m. Oregon State Police were called to Highway 126 near milepost 13 for a crash involving two motorcycles.

According to authorities, 60-year-old Springfield resident Karl Klassen was traveling eastbound and entered the oncoming lane, possibly trying to pass other motorists.

Klassen reportedly T-boned a second motorcycle that was making a left turn onto a forest service road. The driver of the second motorcycle was life-flighted to Riverbend Hospital where officials say they are in the ICU, but expected to survive.

Klassen was pronounced dead at the scene.
