Fatal motorcycle crash closes Highway 58 at I-5

A crash reconstruction crew was on-site Friday morning investigating how the crash occurred.

EUGENE, Ore. -- A fatal motorcycle crash closed Highway 58 Friday morning near the Interstate 5 northbound on ramp.

According to Oregon State Police, a single motorcycle was involved in the crash, which happened near the westbound connector between Highway 58 and I-5 at around 6:45 a.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates a Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Travis Weyer, 43, of Eugene, left the roadway and crashed. He sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

OSP was assisted by the Goshen Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
