Family seeks help in search of missing Springfield man last seen in Maine

The Waldo County Sheriff's Department located an overturned kayak and some personal belongings of 41-year-old Springfield resident Christopher Friedrich on June 6th.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore.-- Family members of 41-year-old Springfield resident Christopher Friedrich are seeking help in finding the missing man.

Officials said they suspect Friedrich drowned in Swan Lake in Swanville, Maine. They found a kayak floating upside down on the lake with some personal belongings on June 6.

Friedrich was reported missing on June 8 to the Waldo County Sheriff's Department in Maine. Officials said his last contact with family members was on June 5.

Family members said Friedrich worked for the University of Oregon as a web application developer and graduated from UO with a degree in data science and technology this year.

Friedrich also has five children. His fiancé's name is Latoya Campbell.

Family members are hoping they find him alive.
