Fall Creek Area, Ore. -- If you want to camp or hike in the Willamette National Forest this weekend, parts of Fall Creek are now an option!

However, there are still many popular camp sites and small roads around it that will remain closed because of safety concerns.

The forest near Mt. Jefferson was hit hard by last year's Jones Fire.

The Forest Service says some of the trees had their roots burned, meaning it's just a matter of time before they fall. Despite the risk locals are looking on the bright side.

Josephina Hajek-Herrera says, "Out here, I come because it's burned, and it's been burned since like you said 2003. I like it because it's really sunny, so we go out here to swim. I don't think it'll affect our plans that much to be honest."

The following link has information on which campgrounds, trails, and roads are open to the public. https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/willamette/fire/?cid=fseprd552029#jones
