FOOD For Lane County kicks off Summer Food Program

The program will run through Aug. 28.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – FOOD For Lane County kicked off its Summer Food Program on Monday.

The program helps feed children in districts that aren’t continuing to provide meals to students through the summer.

Because of coronavirus-related restrictions, the meals will be offered in a take-and-go format each day from Monday to Friday.

Breakfast and lunch are being bundled into meals that can be picked up by parents or caregivers. Meals will be provided between 11 a.m. and noon.
