AZALEA, Ore. – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has reduced the Level 3 Go evacuation order for a fire burning near Azalea.
The Wildcat Fire, part of the Skyline Ridge Complex, has been threatening homes along Upper Cow Creek Road.

Effective today, all homes on the road with addresses from 20039 to 20700 are under a Level 2 Be Set notice. This means significant danger still exists, and if fire conditions change for the worse, residents should be prepared to leave at a moment’s notice.
“Returning residents should be aware that the danger to the area has not fully been eliminated and they should continue to closely monitor the situation and be ready to leave immediately should the area be elevated back to a Level 3,” Sgt. Brad O'Dell said.
Current hot temperatures could cause the fire situation to change rapidly, officials warned.
People driving through the area should slow down and watch for hazards.
