EUGENE, Ore. – A man who shot a woman during a road rage incident in Eugene was sentenced Thursday to 7½ years in prison.
Anthony Michael David Baker, 21, was sentenced Thursday morning after pleading guilty to charges of first-degree assault with a firearm and felon in possession of a firearm.
In May, police arrested Baker after they say he shot a 19-year-old woman in the chest when she got between him and another man during an altercation. The incident happened in the parking lot of the Stadium Park Apartments on Commons Drive.
The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
As part of a plea agreement, one count of attempted murder in the second degree was dismissed. Baker will serve a total of three years of post-prison supervision.
