EUGENE, Ore. -- The “Princess for a Day” event will take place March 3 at the Valley River Center, and the Eugene Police Department is collecting dress-up items.

The goal of the event is to empower, encourage and enable foster girls in the community.

The nonprofit A Family for Every Child puts on the event. It has been going on for over 10 years.

The collection box is in the lobby of the Eugene Police Department headquarters.

They are requesting donations of any princess dresses or costumes, all going to a support good cause.

Registration for the event is required, and all children are welcome. Foster children are granted free admission. General admission for non-foster children is $50 dollars.

You can buy a ticket in person from A Family For Every Child, 1675 West 11th Ave.

For more information on “Princess for a Day,” contact A Family For Every Child event coordinator Juliette Gillaspy at 541-343-2856.
