During the investigation, Cable allegedly struck a detective. Police said he faces charges of second-degree murder and assault on a public safety officer.

The violent crimes unit arrived to the scene at about 1 a.m. and was at the location for many, many hours.

A crash is also being investigated in connection with the murder, police said. Officers were called to the area of East 29th Avenue and Amazon Parkway at about 12:30 a.m. A 2022 silver four-door Chevrolet Silverado truck with a Florida license plate had crashed in the creek bed there.
