EUGENE, Ore. -- Eugene Police said a 70-year-old Eugene man was arrested for attempted murder after they found a woman with life-threatening injuries in a neighborhood.
Eugene Police say they were called to the 1400 block of Adelman Loop for an unknown problem on Jan.19 at 6:23 p.m. They found a 65-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries who was transported to the hospital.
Officers searched the area and found 70-year-old Roberto Cajiva-Maldonado in a nearby neighborhood.
He was arrested for attempted murder and lodged at the Lane County Jail, police said.
Lane County Jail has his name spelled differently: Roberto Moldanado-Cajiga. Charges listed on the jail website include attempt to commit a felony and first-degree assault.
EPD say the victim and the suspect knew each other and that there is no ongoing danger to the public. The case is under investigation and further details will be released when possible.
