GOSHEN, Ore. -- A man was taken into custody after allegedly holding an employee at a Goshen business at gunpoint during a carjacking Thursday night.
Mitchel Orlando, 52, was looking into parked vehicles in the parking lot of a business on the 86000 block of Franklin Boulevard at about 9:45 p.m. when an employee confronted him, according to the Lane County Sheriff's Office.
Orlando then reportedly pointed a handgun at the employee and demanded their vehicle. Officials said he sped away with the truck before parking it moments later and walking away.
After a search, deputies reportedly located Orlando hiding in some brush with the handgun. A police dog unit took Orlando into custody, officials said.
He was taken to the Lane County Jail on multiple charges including first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful use of a vehicle.
He has also been connected to an armed carjacking in Cottage Grove.
