EUGENE, Ore. – The Egan Warming Center has called for more trained morning volunteers after seeing an increased demand of people needing a warm place to stay.

The activation of the center started Monday when temperatures were expected to dip below freezing. This week a total of eight warming centers have been activated in the area.

The director of the organization said they have seen about 50 more people needing help.

Volunteers must go through training with the organization’s website. To sign up for training click here.
