Eugene, Ore. -- Oregon football wrapped up their first scrimmage of fall camp relatively unscathed, with head coach Mario Cristobal pleased with a lot of what he saw on both sides of the ball.

"Better than a typical first scrimmage cause these guys have been here awhile," said Cristobal on Saturday. "Certainly making the right kind of progress,"

The practice was closed to the media, but the Oregon head coach praised multiple players, including the bulk of the 2019 freshmen class. While he mentioned there was some "sloppiness" on both sides of the ball and "some drops" from the receiver corps, Cristobal did say junior Johnny Johnson "really played big".

About a week through fall camp, the Ducks have stayed relatively healthy, with only a smattering of light injuries. Defensive backs Deommodore Lenoir and Jamal Hill sat out of the scrimmage but will be back Monday. Daewood Davis, who was limited for the week practiced in full in the scrimmage.

"I don't see anything...can't recall anything. Some twists and nicks," Cristobal mentioned. "I don't see anything of a serious nature as a result of the scrimmage."

In the absence of some defensive backs, DJ James and Nick Pickett were highlighted as players that performed well. Linemen Gary Baker and Drayton Carlberg were both fully healthy for the scrimmage after picking up some slight knocks during practice.

The Ducks will be back out practicing next week, with the next media availability slated for Tuesday.
