Deputies searching for wreck after report of distress call over radio

Search and rescue crews responded to the Thunder Mountain area.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. – A search and rescue mission is underway after a crash Thursday morning.

Douglas County deputies are searching the Thunder Mountain area southeast of Glide.

Authorities said they received a report at about 9:15 a.m. from someone who overheard a distress call on CB radio. A man said he and his wife had been in a crash in the area and needed medical help.

At this time, the scene has not been found.

Anyone who overheard the distress call or has concerns about missing or overdue family members should call the sheriff’s office at 541-440-4471.

Oregon State Police, BLM Law Enforcement and Douglas Forest Protective Association are assisting.
