LANE COUNTY, Ore. -- Was your business or home damaged by the winter storm last month? Lane County wants you to submit your initial damage assessment as soon as possible.

County officials said the assessment gets shared with Oregon Emergency Management and is used to determine whether any federal assistance programs are available for businesses and homeowners.

The form can be submitted even if the damage has already been repaired. Homeowners can only submit assessments for their primary residences. County officials said they cannot guarantee that assistance will become available.

Public agencies -- including utilities, cities, school districts, water districts, park districts and others -- must have their initial damage assessments submitted to the county by 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
