Motor home fire spreads to nearby grass, vehicles

The fire is under control, officials say.

EUGENE, Ore. -- Firefighters responded to a motor home fire on Highway 99 in Eugene on Monday.

Eugene-Springfield Fire officials say it happened at about noon at 115 Highway 99N.

The smoke could be seen from several miles away, and the flames spread to nearby grass and other vehicles. No buildings were involved.

Four engines, two battalion chiefs, the Fire Marshal's Office and Eugene police responded to the scene. 

No injuries were reported, and the fire has been brought under control.

Police earlier reported that Highway 99 was closed at Royal Avenue and Bethel Drive due to a fire.
