EUGENE, Ore. -- The Lane County Fair kicks off Wednesday, and crews continue to prepare for the thousands of people expected to attend.
Crews are gearing up for an expected 115,000 people to walk through the gates over the five-day event.
Organizers said you will find plenty of new things to do and see this year. They said there are 36 rides for all ages, 30 sweet and savory food vendors, more than 100 commercial venders, thousands of exhibits featuring art and animals and, of course, live entertainment.
Organizers said the fair is a great way for the entire family to have fun.
"Any age, any family, any group -- it's a great time to come to the fair,” said Rachel Bivens, assistant fair manager. “You can come in and just wander around. You don't have to buy any food, you don't have to get anything to drink if you don't want. There's plenty to see, there's plenty to do, and if you're hungry, we can fill your belly."
The gates will open each day at 11 a.m. and they will close each night at 11 p.m., except Sunday when they'll close at 8 p.m.
