Highway 99 reopens following crash involving pedestrian

Eugene police said the person who was hit was taken to Riverbend Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

EUGENE, Ore. -- The northbound lanes of Highway 99 have reopened after a pedestrian was hit by a car and seriously injured Monday night.

The Eugene Police Department shut down northbound Highway 99, one block north of West 5th Avenue, following the crash at about 9:30 p.m. The highway reopened at about midnight.

The person who was hit was taken to RiverBend Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.
