LACOMB, Ore. -- A large, male cougar was spotted in the residential area of Lacomb early Tuesday morning, Linn County Sheriff Jim Yon said.
A private timber company employee saw the cougar walking on Shingle Mill Road near Snow Peak Road. He said the cougar didn’t seem to be frightened by his presence, and there are school children that wait for buses in the area.
Yon said residents in the area should be aware of their surroundings and report any sightings near homes, businesses or places where pedestrians would be.
To report a sighting, call the Linn County Sheriff’s Office at 541-967-3911.
