EUGENE, Ore. – A Cottage Grove man will spend 20 years in prison for raping a child.
David John McCutcheon, 39, was sentenced Thursday in Lane County Circuit Court.
In December, McCutcheon pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree rape and waived his right to be indicted on the charges by a grand jury.
Because these are Measure 11 crimes, McCutcheon is not eligible for early release and must serve the entire 20-year prison term. He will also serve 11 years and eight months of post-prison supervision.
The four counts accuse him of raping a child younger than 16 years old.
At the time of his arrest in June 2020, Cottage Grove police said he admitted to the crimes during questioning.
