CORVALLIS, Ore. – The first phase of the new Coast to Valley Express expansion that will replace the Corvallis to Amtrak Connector will start Nov. 4.
The Coast to Valley Express will take four runs to the Albany Amtrak station seven days a week.
The service will not have all the stops that the Amtrak Connector had, but passengers can request to board or depart at those locations ahead of their trip.
The second phase of the expansion will start in 2020 and will have eight runs traveling between Newport, Corvallis and Albany.
The Corvallis to Amtrak Connector was a service provided by Benton County Transportation.
The Coast to Valley Express is being funded through the Oregon Legislature's 2017 comprehensive transportation bill.
