Corvallis residents return home after evacuating from grass fire

Reports of the fire came in around 2:30 p.m.

CORVALLIS, Ore.-- Some residents in Corvallis returned home safely after having to evacuate due to a grass fire in the area.

Reports of the fire came in around 2:30 p.m. on the 6900 block of Philomath Boulevard near the intersection of Southwest Country Club Drive. 

Officials said the fire was around 4.75 acres in size.

Traffic in the area was impacted for several hours as crews worked to bring the fire under control.

The fire has been contained at this time. No cars and structures were damaged, officials said.

All residents living in the area were told to go back to their homes and no injuries were reported.
