COOS BAY, Ore. –- Deputies said on Monday a 27-year-old woman took money and ingested meth while having a warrant for her arrest before being admitted to a hospital then getting released on citation.
According to the Coos County Sheriff’s office deputies were dispatched Monday to a disturbance in progress at 62905 Highway 101.
When deputies arrived, a witness told them they saw Jessica Scott,27, forcefully take money from her father before shoving him to the ground and leaving the area.
Deputies said they were told that Scott was seen in the passenger seat of a tan Ford pickup along with a driver.
Deputies checked Scott’s warrant status and found out she had a valid warrant for her arrest out of the Coos Bay Police Department for Failure to Appear in the 1st Degree.
Deputies say they stopped the truck with Scott inside at 4th Street and Lockhard Avenue in Coos Bay.
When they approached the truck, deputies said they saw Scott take what appeared to be heroin.
Deputies said before taking Scott into custody they opened the door to tell Scott was she under arrest but she pulled away attempting to go back inside.
Scott was taken to the Bay Area Hospital then released on citation.
According to the Coos County Sheriff’s office Scott faces charges for possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest and will be referred to the Coos County District Attorney’s Office.
