PORTLAND, Ore. (KGW) — A climate change protest outside City Hall has blocked a few streets in downtown Portland.

Portland police said Southwest 4th Avenue is closed in front of City Hall. Police said the traffic impact is minimal.

City Hall is on lockdown. There has been no reported violence, police said.

It appears at least 100 people are at the rally. The protest is calling for the government to declare a climate emergency. Protesters said they plan to stay outside City Hall until they get arrested.
