HALSEY, Ore. - The City of Halsey honored hundreds of veterans nearly a week ahead of Veterans Day with a new monument.

The city unveiled a new monument at Veterans Memorial Park, honoring more than 400 names, including those who are living who served from the Central Linn community after World World II.

The project features a new seating area with walkways leading to the center, and a granite monument. City officials said new landscaping, lighting, benches, and a flag pole will complete the project.

The monument joins an existing bronze plaque located in the park, honoring Halsey residents who served in WWII.

City staff said that they made every effort to research and collect names for the monument. If any names were excluded, they ask to be contacted at 541-369-2522 or e-mailed at cityrecorder@cityofhalsey.com.
