EUGENE, Ore. -- The Lane Community College Board of Education authorized the president to negotiate a lease with the City of Eugene at their meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 21.

If signed, the city would move some operations to the Mary Spilde building in downtown Eugene. There is no draft yet, but there was a discussion to make it a multi-year lease.

There was concern by some the college would lose space for its programs downtown. President Margaret Hamilton said some offices may move out of the building, but most will stay. She said all college activities would move to one part of the building.

KEZI did reach out to the city of Eugene Wednesday night to see what would move into the Mary Spilde building, but we did not hear back.
