SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Cinemark movie theaters are banning large bags starting Thursday.

On its website, the company said moviegoers will no longer be able to bring in packages of bags measuring larger than 12” x 12” x 6”.

There are a couple of exceptions. Medical bags and diaper bags will still be allowed.

Cinemark said the new rules are to keep people safe.

There is a Cinemark theater located at Gateway in Springfield.
