EUGENE, Ore. -- A church group of 80 people including middle schoolers spent the last couple of days stranded in Oakridge and are now safely back in Eugene

The group was on their way back from a trip near the Hoodoo Ski area on Sunday night.

After getting reports of an avalanche in Santiam Pass, they tried to make it home on Highway 58.

By the time they got to Oakridge, the roads were closed and they weren't going anywhere.

However, the First Baptist Church in Oakridge stepped up to give them food and a warm place to stay.

They passed the time by playing cards, games and playing in the snow.

The group made it back to Eugene just after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday night.
