ROSEBURG, Ore. - Christmas for Kids of Douglas County is having a shopping event at the Roseburg Walmart on Friday, December 1.
Volunteers can arrive at 7:45 P.M. and sign up to shop for more than 1,700 children.

Organizers said the shopping is at no cost to the volunteers. They said much of the money was raised by local businesses like Roseburg Forest Products.
Staff with the organization said this event has grown immensely in the past few years and it means so much to them.
"It’s absolutely amazing," said Dale Pritchett, the County Chairman for Christmas for Kids. "To a child that has no clue that they’re going to have any kind of a Christmas, you’ve never seen that face before until you’ve been there."
The organization is also looking for volunteers to bag the gifts. That will happen at 9:00 A.M. on December 3.
The gifts will then be delivered all over the county in person by Santa's helpers.
