Child under age of 5 among new Lane County cases

Two new cases were reported Wednesday.

EUGENE, Ore. – Lane County Public Health reported two new coronavirus cases on Wednesday.

One of the cases is someone in their 40s in the Eugene-Springfield area who is recovering at home. The case is linked to an existing case and was found through disease investigation efforts.

Another case is a child under the age of 5 in the Eugene-Springfield area. The child is stable at home, and it is a case of household transmission.

Those who had contact with these cases will be contacted.

This brings the county’s total of positive tests to 78 with one presumptive case.
