EUGENE, Ore. -- The two teens arrested following the Lane County Fair shooting are now facing fewer charges, officials said.
Lane County Health and Human Services said the 16-year-old originally charged with felon in posession of a firearm, use of a firearm and second-degree assault is no longer facing the assault charge.
The 14-year-old charged with tampering with evidence and disorderly conduct is no longer facing either of those charges, officials said. He was charged with a probation violation but it was resolved last week.
Officials said the 14-year-old was released from custody on Saturday, and the 16-year-old remains in the John Serbu Youth Detention Center.
KEZI reached out to the district attorney's office about why the charges were dropped, but they said all juvenile information is released by county youth services.
Officials said no arraignment date has been scheduled yet for the 16-year-old.
