COVID-19 death in Linn County; 79 new cases statewide

The Oregon Health Authority reported 79 new COVID-19 cases statewide and three more deaths, bringing the statewide total to 3160 and the death toll to 127.

SALEM, Ore.-- The Oregon Health Authority reported 79 new COVID-19 cases statewide and three more deaths, bringing the statewide total to 3160 and the death toll to 127.

Among the deaths were an 81-year-old Linn County man who died at Samaritan Albany General Hospital. He had underlying medical conditions. This is the 8th COVID-19 death in Linn County.

The two other deaths included a 76-year-old Clackamas County woman and a 92-year-old Polk County woman, both of whom had underlying medical conditions.

New cases in our area include one new case in Benton County for a total of 44, two new cases in Linn County for a total of 102 and one new case in Coos County for a total of 30.
