EUGENE, Ore. -- A man in his 30s was arrested in west Eugene Wednesday. Police said he broke into two buildings.

Eugene police officers were called out to the 300 block of N. Seneca Road on Wednesday. They said a man broke into the facility and took several items.

The man was seen leaving the facility, police said. He reportedly jumped over a fence and went into a nearby home.

Officials said he eventually changed his clothes in the backyard of a home on Elmira Road.

A police dog was able to find the suspect, Derrick Allen Payton, on Gilbert Street a short time later. He was arrested on two counts of burglary charges.
