LEBANON, Ore. -- The Lebanon Police Department is asking for the public's help after a man stole thousands of dollars worth of equipment and other items, including keys to an airplane, from a business at the Lebanon State Airport.

Detective Chris Miner said the crime happened just after 6 a.m. on Jan. 5 at LebanAir Aviation, a private company that sells fuel and other services to pilots.

Surveillance video of the break-in shows a white man using a crowbar to break a glass window to get into the manager's office before leaving holding a bag.

Miner said the suspect got away with two Bose aviation headsets, valued at $1,900, $381 in cash, an ignition key for a two-seater airplane, a Garmin handheld GPS device valued at $600, and the business owner’s FAA medical license. A plane was not stolen.

"We ruled out all of our options and exhausted every lead that we had," Miner said. "So now we are reaching out to the public to help identify who did this and help us out."

The general manager for LebanAir Aviation didn't want to talk to KEZI 9 News on camera or give his name but said they take the security of their facility and customer's aircraft very seriously, and they'll invest in improving their security systems.

The Lebanon airport is maintained by the state. Matthew Maass with the Oregon Department of Aviation said they've also identified a few things they can do to prevent any future break-ins.

Security cameras also captured what appears to be a light-colored crew cab style pickup truck, which police believe is connected to the suspect.

They urge anyone with information to come forward and contact Miner at 541-258-4314.
