EUGENE, Ore. -- Portland Trail Blazer Damian Lillard helped a Eugene teenager in a big way with his search for a pair of shoes that fit.

Fourteen-year-old Jaeden Frye wears a size 18 wide shoe. Despite his mom's best efforts, he was down to one pair at the end of the school year that he wore everyday, including for basketball.

This week, the soon-to-be South Eugene High sophomore got the surprise of a lifetime delivered to his doorstep: Boxes and boxes filled with shoes.

"Yesterday, I walked into the apartment, and I see five boxes of all these shoes," mom Lindsey Frye said. "He sent him like 25 pairs. I am completely humbled and grateful, and I feel extremely blessed."

There was a note in one of the boxes from Lillard that said he saw the interview KEZI 9 News did with Lindsey and Jaeden in May after a family member sent him a link, and he wanted to help.

Not only did he send Jaeden plenty of 18s to wear now, he also sent 19s and 20s in case his feet grow.

Needless to say, the family was overwhelmed with excitement. Jaeden said if he could send a message to Lillard it would be: "I'm really thankful for the shoes and thank you that you got them for me."

Lindsey added: "The only thing I can say is thank you, and it doesn't feel like it's enough. It really doesn't."
