Barn destroyed after early morning fire in Eugene

Officials said no one was hurt and no animals appeared to be inside the barn.

EUGENE, Ore. – Fire officials said a barn located on the 28000 block of Royal Avenue was destroyed after it was engulfed in flames early Saturday morning.

Fire crews responded to the call around 1:30 a.m.

They said there were large flames and even a few explosions, but they were able to contain the fire before it spread.

Fire officials said there was also a danger from an electrical pole that caught fire. They said a crew from the Eugene Water and Electric Board had to disconnect it.

Officials said the fire caused so much destruction, they were unable to determine what was inside the barn or what may have caused the explosions.

However, they did said no one was hurt and no animals appeared to be inside the barn.

Fire crews don’t know what caused the fire.
