TANGENT, OR. -- Oregon State Police are reporting three bald eagles were found dead near Tangent last Friday.

They said from their initial investigation, it looks like the birds were shot.

This happened about halfway between Tangent and Lebanon, at the intersection of Tangent Drive and Parker Road.

Georgia Edwards/Tangent City Manager, says, "We have people that come to Tangent just to look at the Bald Eagles. So, it's pretty tragic that somebody would actually shoot them and kill them." :10

Bald Eagles are no longer endangered, but are protected by federal and state law.

OSP is still investigating the incident. We will bring you an update when more information is available.
