ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A family is left without a place to stay after their attic caught fire Monday night.

Roseburg fire officials said crews responded to the 1600 block of NW Utah Street just before 8 p.m.

Firefighters found a two-story building with smoke coming from the second story. Two adults, four children and a service dog had already evacuated, they said.

After putting out the fire, crews ventilated the home. However, the family was displaced, fire officials said. The American Red Cross is assisting.

No one was injured.

The home, which is valued at $200,000, suffered an estimated $60,000 in damage, officials said.

At this time, the cause is under investigation.

Twelve firefighters responded, and Umpqua Valley Ambulance, Avista, Roseburg police and Pacific Power also assisted.
